Our many volunteers enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents, contribute to the vibrancy and warmth of our communities and help our organisation extend out services.

Why Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to have impact on your community, to give something back and to make a difference to those around you.
But did you know that volunteering can also benefit YOU, the volunteer.

  • Volunteering is great for your own mind and body – yes, volunteering makes you happy!
  • develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge
  • make new friends by committing to a shared activity together
  • discover something new that you are really good at
  • strengthen ties to your community
  • broaden your support network
  • create a sense of purpose
  • try out a new career, without making a long term commitment

How to volunteer

All you need to volunteer is passion and positivity! Our volunteers come from different backgrounds and locations, have different ages and genders and travel different distances. Some come from local communities, including our own villages, and others travel some distance to help on a regular basis. Some have volunteered before at some point in their lives; for others, volunteering is a first-time experience. In most cases, volunteers need no qualifications or experience, just a willing heart, compassion, an open mind and a positive attitude.

Volunteer Roles

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from a few hours a month to a few days a week to suit your schedule. We have volunteer programs designed around the skills, interests and availability of individual volunteers and we do all we can to facilitate you being part of our volunteer team, currently numbering around 140, and serving us with 300 per hours/month.
